The profit performance dashboard provides analytics that gives the user insight into how their profits are made within their portfolio. This dashboard contains several charts that break down the portfolio’s profit performance by many categories. Additionally, each chart contains a dollar amount/percentage toggle that will configure the charts to show profit performance either by the dollar amount increase or by the price percentage increase.
The Charts
Portfolio Instrument Performance
This chart shows the portfolio’s highest-gaining or lowest-gaining stocks. The bar graph shows either the top six highest gainers or the six lowest gainers within the portfolio, depending on the sorting setting the user has applied. The sorting setting can be changed by choosing either Highest Gain _or Lowest Gain _from the dropdown menu to the right of the table. The table itself provides more in-depth information regarding the highest/lowest gaining stocks in the portfolio. It shows every stocks' performance in the portfolio instead of just the highest/lowest gaining six found in the corresponding bar graph.
Portfolio Performance By Category
This chart shows the profit performance of the portfolio organized by a specific category. The category can be chosen via the dropdown menu under the chart’s title. The currently supported categories are:
- Float: The stock’s available float.
- Quarter: The quarter in which the swing trades took place (e.g., Q1, Q2, etc.).
- Industry: The top-performing industries of the portfolio (e.g., Biotechnology, Pharmaceuticals, Oil and Gas).
- **Market Capitalization: **The breakdown of the market capitalization of the portfolio (e.g., low, medium, high).
Portfolio Performance By Month/Week
This chart shows the portfolio’s profit performance based on the best performing weeks or best performing months in which the swing trades took place. The time category can be toggled via the dropdown menu under the chart’s title.
Portfolio Performance By Cost Basis
This chart shows the portfolio’s profit performance based on the stocks with the best ratio between their cost basis and their realized profit. The cost basis is the actual amount paid for the stock or the average amount paid if more than one order is involved in the swing trade. The profit is the realized profit from closing the swing trade.
